What the previous input said is correct about filing for unemployment due to layoff but make sure you did not sign anything that states they cannot guarantee you hours as my job did this I have not worked in about a month. whatever you do do not wuit otherwise they will win and you will not get unemplyment.

Your boss might just be stringing you along.

Georgia is an "employment at will" state. You can be laid off or fired for any reason or for no reason at all just as you are free to quit your job no explanation needed.

Start looking for another job.

That's how companies get you to quit so they can try to avoid unemployment.

If you don't have any hours after three consecutive weeks, file for unemployment. Claim a layoff as they have not given you any work for three weeks.

no! you can call and tell them that if they don't give you hours then you want to quit but they don't have to.
