What should a mother do? Her 16-year-old daughter tells her that she is pregnant. She says that she does not want to put the fathers name on the birth certificate, because she does not want a child custody dispute and does not need his permission to get her child a US passport. She wants to legally change her name and wants to officially (de jure) live with her father, but in de facto live with her mother. That way it would be very difficult for the father to find out that he has a child.

I will assume the 16 year will seek state assistance for the child? if the case she will have to name a bio-dad, to be eligible for aid, the state will not simply take an answer I don't know

What a selfish, terrible thing for her to do. If this guy is going to be a father, he has every right to know. Ten years from now she may change her mind about child support. She could force a DNA test and HE would be liable for 10 years of child support. How fair is that?

It think it should be illegal for someone to do this. It's the ultimate in selfishness unless the father is violent or harmful.

You should learn to stop posting your demented little rants here day after day in the wrong section showing that you are more interested in drama than in answers
