hi,

i have a few questions . i went to my 6 week postpartum check up . everything seemed fine ,but my doctor diagnosed me with postpartum depression . i was just wondering if that falls under californias pregnancy disability leave????? i looked everywhere , but i can't find anywhere what conditions fall under that law. i don't qualify for FMLA since i didn't work 1250 hours this year.

also can PDL be used after childbirth if so how many weeks do we get??? i heard 18 weeks.. 17 weeks, 12 weeks!! i am at a complete loss!!!! i try asking my job , but their answers were vague and said they would let me know after they find out.

heLP!!! :(

more details- i suffered from depression and anxiety since 2008. i was taken off my meds when i got pregnant because my psychiatrist didn't want to take risks knowing the meds i was on could cause birth defects . i was place on prozac 40 mg after giving birth. i was warned i might suffer from ppd.

i was hoping i wouldn't , but it came at me full force :( .

If you don't qualify for the federal FMLA act then you only have CFML that only gives you a total of 6 weeks of protected leave after that has been exhausted the employer is free to let you go.
