In June This year I was shopping at Staples and have received a parking ticket from UKPC statin I was parked over the line, which in all fairness I was, this was because somebody had placed a row of Lidl trolleys over one of the parking bays meaning I had to park over the white line. I have tried to appeal the ticket but have had no success, this has been going on for a while now. and I have been receiving letters from them saying that I will be taken to court unless I pay the charge which has now been upped to £150, I have gone into Staples and spoken to the manager and handed them a complaint letter with photo evidence of the trolleys, the manager told me he would forward my complaint over to Head office, I have now been told by Staples that there is nothing they can do for me.

I find this extremely bad customer service and should be down to the retailer to sort this or pay the fine I have no apology from anyone..so Where do I stant

As UKPC is a private car park operator, this is about the terms of the contract that you agreed to implicitly when you parked. Your complaint is with UKPC, not Staples, so Staples are correct in saying there's nothing they can do. UKPC's aim, meanwhile, is to make as much money as possible. They never accept that they are in the wrong - I know, they manage the car park at the block of flats I live in and they are impervious to reason.

My thinking would be to look over the particular terms and conditions UKPC impose for parking in this particular car park. If they include that you must park fully in a space and not be parked on top of a line, then you are clearly in breach of contract and I would pay up before the charge increases any more. If there is nothing in the terms and conditions you have broken, then I would take legal advice and get a solicitor to write to them pointing that out, therefore they are demanding money they are not entitled to.

This does not involve anything criminal, just in case you were wondering - if they go to court, it will be to sue you in the county court, as this is a private dispute between you and UKPC.

Pay the ticket. You parked illegally, which you admit. Surely there was another place you could have parked legally. You probably just didn't want to walk that far.

This isn't bad customer service, just a bad customer. They didn't do anything wrong. You did.

YOU parked over the line. That earns you a parking ticket. That somebody else was also over the line is NOT and never has been, an excuse for anything.

You are at fault, you have said so. You should have moved the trollys. No excuses. If you go to Court this will be doubled as you will pay court fees as well.

Pay up, you cannot win.

At the moment you stand to pay £150 if you let it go to court you will also be paying their legal costs too

Well, if the fine is not letting you go, just pay for it, no matter what (Even though it is very expensive). That way, the court won't bother you anymore.
