Question:
Shouldn't it be illegal for nudist clubs to allow children?

I'm a red blooded man and was just goofing off looking at nudist clubs for the heck of it. I'm also a Daddy so you can imagine my shock when I see that nudist clubs, all of them I looked at and I looked at about 20, allow children. They provide playground equipment for kids, activities, etc. Many of these sites also have photo galleries. I didn't see any children, but I did see some perverted looking people.

Should there be a law to prohibit this sort of thing? I think so, having been sexually abused as a kid, as was my wife. In any stretch of my imagination, I cannot imagine how undressing a child and placing him/her in full view of strangers could be healthy.

Some of these are places are considered Christian camps, which brings up the other point of how it should be illegal to make kids attend church when they have no idea if they're being told the truth or not, because they're so young.

I'm thinking this world has gone completely insane.

Nudists contain a cross section of the population. Those who are there for the wrong reason are more easily identified. You will find nudist children being watched out for by more "aunts" and "uncles" than at a non-nudist venue. Children are our greatest resource. Until a child is old enough to make his/her own choices, a parent/guardian is there to guide them whether it's attending a specific religious congregation or eating green beans.

Nudism/naturism builds self-esteem, accepting you for who you are, how you act, and what you say rather than what you look like, own, or wear. We need to realize that there are no ugly bodies. The body is just the vessel for the person.

It’s about de-stressing, relaxing, getting back to innocence. It’s like going barefoot all over. After a rough day and you take your shoes off….you know how good your feet feel? That’s the same way the rest of you feels when you disrobe.

It is well known that a feeling of wholeness, honesty and well being overcome people when they find themselves laughing and enjoying camaraderie with family and friends in a nude environment. The only difference between nudists and others is after a large meal, nudists have no belt to loosen.

We are lawyers, doctors, secretaries, accountants, engineers, models, teachers, government employees, clergy, mothers, fathers, teens, infants, taxi drivers, your neighbors, your friends. Most nudists are "clothed when practical, nude when possible."

Surveys have proven that except for fears derived from artificial cultural taboos, over 85% are at least sympathetic to nudists' beliefs.

I hope this enlightens any who may not understand our way of shedding tension, aggression, and anxiety (medically proven). We have a lower divorce rate and strong family ties. Youngsters growing up in a nudist environment have better body images and lower teen pregnancy rates.

It's a life style. Not one that I would choose, but they have every right to do that. For these people, it's not sexual. They're not hurting anyone.

Is it possible that a pedophile could be in there mists? I don't know of any statistics, but I would be surprised if a child in a nudest camp is any more or less at risk then anywhere else. You can't just outlaw any place where a pedophile might hang out. Chuck E Cheese, McDonald's, and so on.

It's still up to the parents to keep their child safe. If the parents just let their child run around camp unsupervised, (any type of camp) then all kinds of bad things can happen to a child.

As for church, I think you actually might have a point. But good luck getting any politician to go along with the idea of banning children from church. Could you imagine what the bible thumping extremists would have to say about that.

There's no such thing as a perverted looking person. I wish there was. I wish we could look at someones picture and know they're a pedophile. But, more then likely, a pedophile will go out of his way to appear normal to others. So really, it's the ones that seem normal that you need to watch out for.

You entirely missed to point behind the nudist movement... it has nothing to do with sex. Nudity in and of itself is not sexual. I know for a fact that kids are not "forced" to be naked. I went to a nudist camp as a child. No one forced anything. The most traumatic thing that happened at the nudist camp is seeing old people naked all the time... well that and learning that nudity and sandboxes do NOT mix.

google "child sexual abuse" and anything imaginable and you'll find problems.

lol... yeah I agree with the other person... sounds like you are the pervert looking at all the pictures to get your rocks off because you are a "red blooded man"

I'm sorry that you and your wife were abused as children, but you're barking up the wrong tree. You "assume" that it's a sexually charged environment, when it's nothing of the sort. Just the opposite. The association you're expecting between nudity and sex is a cultural perversion which does not occur naturally in children, or in adults. Without having that association constantly and artificially enforced, people very quickly find being free from their clothing is relaxing and free from any such connotations.

As others have said, we're on guard for visitors who might be looking for something else. Most of them are quickly bored and don't stick around.. Creeps are quickly discovered, ejected, and sometimes arrested. The kids themselves are often a pedophile's worse nightmare. Without the shame and embarrassment, they rat creeps out quickly to their parents and other adults.

Nudist camps are not free for all sex clubs. Nudists don't jump into each other's beds any more than any other group of people (including Christians). Being nude in front of children in a situation such as this isn't illegal. Sexual activity in front of children or with children is. Nudists aren't about sex, they are simply about living clothes free.

You may be surprised to learn that nudist camps are for being nude - not a sexual playground with orgies everywhere. Many people think kids grow up healthier when they aren't ashamed of their bodies.

Who is the bigger pervert, a nudist that harms no one or the guy who looks at (by your admission) 20 sites and gawks at the pictures. Just buy a porno mag and spare us the fake outrage, okay.
