Question:
Harassment by a co-worker?
?

I have been working for an eye doctors office for about 2 years now. I have moved from paperwork to receptionist to contact lens technician. Within the past year a new employee has been hired. She about 8 years older than me, but treats me horribly. From what I looked online, I am being harassed. From name calling, being yelled at with curse words, tripped, bumped into, and doors slammed into where it leaves a bruise and personal space being invaded when the co-worker literally gets about an inch away from me, my days at work get really stressful. I have gone to the doctors and they just give us both a verbal warning. The most recent warning we have received was the first written warning. It was given to both of us, the reason stated was "arguing with a co-worker using profanity". Now, I refrain from arguing, and name calling, and even cursing and she instigates it every time. What do I do?

Point out to your employers that you have been working for them for 2 years without problems and that everyone got on well until this person started working there. From what you said she is bullying you.

Suggest to your employer that they install hidden cameras, for security purposed, so that they can witness for themselves what this woman is doing to you. Is she bullying anyone else? Are there any witnesses?

I hope you get this sorted out.

I'm going to star your question and hopefully at least one of my contacts will answer your question as well.

Keep calm, Keep a diary and good luck in dealing with this. I hope your employer sees sence.

Good luck!

Some of what you mentioned above goes beyond harassment into the criminal assault and battery. If she ever touches you again simple go to your boss and tell him that you are going to be calling the police and reporting that you hae been assaulted.

If she just continues to carry out acts that she has been written up for report them in writing to your boss.

If they disciplined BOTH of you, obviously what they are seeing is two children misbehaving. Stop it immediately or expect to be fired.

Call the police, have her arrested, and sue your employer
