Scammer threatens to send me to jail because i ve stolen there "money" which a fake check with a computer printed signature?

Is there anything i should really be worried about ? Im 16 years old and i was selling things online as gullible as i am i got scammed, scammer has my address, number and name but that is it. They keep texting me threating me that they contacted fbi and there lawyer but the fake check i recieved was just thrown away in the trash. Is there anything i should be scared of..? Please help

You didn't steal anything. Tell them you turned the check over to the police and they verified it is a fake check and they are now investigating

They cannot send you to jail. These are typical threats by scammers once they realize you didn't fall for it



Contact the real company whose name is on the fake check and speak to their accounting department to inform them someone is counterfeiting their checks. Then turn the check you got along with all emails over to your local police station

Did you sell them something and they gave you a bogus check? Unless you cashed the check they're not out any money in any case. It sounds like they have cheated you, not the other way around.

Tell your parents about this right away. The next time they try threatening you, tell them you're only sixteen years old.

There are so many scams online now that if that is the only way that they are talking to you then it is surely a scam.
