Probably not in cesspool L.A. The cops and the justice system here are too busy with other crimes to worry much about this. In some rural counties in other states, you would be prosecuted as if a murderer. So it's all totally unfair, depending on where you are arrested.

If the jails are full with other offenders with larger records or more violent offenses, you might not even spend an hour in jail. Particularly, in a large city. Too many criminals and not enough room=get out of jail card, it might look like its celebrity status, but its not. That said I do think if you are a minority you will be lower on the release list. Sorry, but i think it is true. In truth would you rather have felony assault 1 in jail or DUI girl, if there is only room for one?

In most cases, you would likely serve more than 1 day; however, it would depend on how good your lawyer was and if they could plea bargain it down to a lesser charge or charges to avoid any manditory jail time mandated under the laws in the State where you reside.

In some states, you will get a lot more than 1 day. I had a friend who got his second one in NJ (1st one in PA 5 years earlier). His lawyer told him to be prepared to go right from court to jail and that's what happened - he got the mandatory 90 days, but I think they let him out after 60 days. And tha was 3 years ago, I think they made it tougher since then.

In KS you would get a minimum of 5 days....2 consecutive and then possible to do the rest on parole if you are employed. Sometimes they will let you serve it over 3 weekends.....you would most likely get between 30days to a year, but only serve the 5 and the rest on parole as I said above. Laws vary by state so consult a local attorney

Around here you would get 45 - 90 days in jail..plus lots of fines..plus probation..plus have your license jerked for a minimum of one year. Money and celebrity can get you off the hook..where your normal every day average person pays the price. But then again..noone should be drinking and driving to begin with.

Depending on the court system, Judge, and your lawyer..you could possibly pay your way out of this one .However in a case like yours i have not seen it happen.2 DUI'S =Jailtime.

First you will develop a rash all over your body. Your skin will become scaly like a lizard's. You will then crave human flesh. You will develop the ability to telepathically control all reptiles. You will start reffering to yourself in the third person, calling yourself "the Lizard". "The Lizard craves meat", will be the last thing many people hear.

If it were you or I they would send us to prison. I guess it is true that money can buy you anything. I wonder if when she does it next time and kills someone what her penalty will be. She might actually have to do 2 days.

If I was on a jury, you would spend your valuable vacation time in the county jail.

It is indeed a two-tiered system. And you and I are on the lower tier.
