A background check isn't being racist. It is protecting you and other people you may work with. A company that doesn't perform background checks should be watched because they could be hiring people not qualified for the job. Would you want someone who didn't graduate high school teaching your children? What about sitting next to someone at work who has a past of criminal sexual abuse? No, you wouldn't. Background checks are pertinent to maintaining public safety.

As much as it may suck, we need policies in place to act as a deterrent to crime--not necessarily to you or any other reformed person, but to people who have yet to commit a crime and need a reason not to. We have too lax a criminal justice system on violent crimes. People get 3 strikes and bounce in and out of prison only to do it again. Then people blame the guns they shoot people with and ban law abiding citizens from having them, even though the Second Amendment unmistakably protects our right to keep and bear arms.

I'm tired of my rights being restricted b/c of violent criminals. Anything that makes it tougher to commit crimes or at least adds a deterrent, therefore, is a good idea in my book. The alternative is they restrict the rights of those of us who have never committed a crime.

That said, if we legalized drugs, there would be far fewer "criminals" who really are not a danger to society. I think only violence and things that harm others should be crimes. We spend over 75% of our annual police budget on drug law enforcement in my city while violent criminals roam the streets b/c jails are full of pot heads. The majority of the gang violence is over drugs, anyway, b/c they're so ridiculously profitable b/c they're illegal. Therefore, people are willing to commit violent acts to protect their profits. I don't care if a person uses drugs as long as they don't drive under the influence. He/she is only hurting himself. If it's a violent crime, then I have no sympathy.

BMW switched contractors at a production facility in 2008 and made each and all of the staff re-shop on with with the hot contractor. BMW refused to rehire 88 of the staff who had criminal data, of which 70 have been black. It surely seems to be racist except it relatively is the proportion of all workers (7 out of 9 are black.) we don't understand what the single or 2 people in cost have been questioning. they could have been questioning "i choose to do away with the black workers... and how i will do it relatively is to declare i'm removing them because of the fact of their criminal data."

You made your choice. They laws have been around many many years, you know what's right and wrong. Get out of jail, clean up your act, and stop screaming for your rights and privileges. Become responsible, tell the truth, and grow up. By screaming like a little girl you will get nowhere.

The addition of a question mark at the end of your opening statement does not qualify your personal agenda driven rant as a question.

Your past is your past. It cannot be undone.

_You_ made decisions - and now you have to live with the consequences of the actions you took.

Yes, you have to start over and live down your reputation. _You_ have to demonstrate to us that you have reformed. We know that you were punished - what we are not sure of is whether or not you have reformed.
