I get social security because of my dads disability I'm pretty sure, its kinda like child support but its not. I just turned 18 so now the checks are in my name not my moms, but my mom told me i only get them until i am finished with highschool. I have heard that some people get them until they are finished with college. I just got accepted into college for the fall semester and I'm finishing high school this year. How would i do that?

Normally, benefits stop when children reach age 18 unless they are disabled. However, if the child is still a full-time student at a secondary (or elementary) school at age 18, benefits will continue until the child graduates or until two months after the child becomes age 19, whichever is first. http://www.ssa.gov/dibplan/dfamily4.htm

Social Security student benefits terminate when you graduate from high school or until 2 months after you attain age 19, whichever occurs first.

They do not pay benefits to college students.

Go to the Social Security website or visit a local office. Not likely to be extended for college though. Guess you will need to get a job and work, like the rest of us.
