So far ebay and paypal have not been helping me very well with a fraudulent seller who sold me a car part and then canceled there account. It was almost a grand. So right now I am still fighting for it. Are there any other sites that can assist me? It has been one month since I purchased this item. So I am trying to get this criminal as soon as I can.

You'll probably have to take him to small claims court--if you can find him. Sellers have been known to give fraudulent contact info. Same thing happened to me, only I lost $1600. PayPal and eBay's attitude was generally, "We didn't take it..." Needless to say, I don't do eBay or PayPal any more.

If the account has been closed it was done by eBay. When there are current/recent transactions eBay will not allow a person to close their account for security reasons.



If you've filed an INR dispute with PayPal escalate it immediately to a claim.



Hopefully this seller was verified and you qualify for the *up to $2,000* protection, not just $200.



If eBay closed the account and PayPal was notified through other disputes you may find that your claim is handled quickly/in your favor.



DO NOT close that claim for any reason other than CLEARED REFUND IN PAYPAL ACCOUNT or you receive your item. Some people like to promise a refund *at a later date* as long as the person promises to close their claim; once the claim is closed there is NO further recourse through PayPal. You only get one shot at these.

You create an account in PayPal. They take all your payment information and keep it on file. Whenever you pay by PayPal, you don't have do give out your information anymore to anyone. It's confidential between you and PayPal. Make sure you use an account that can be used for all your payments. You don't want to overdraw a checking account (debit card) or go over your credit limit (credit card). That can be really costly. When you click on pay by Paypal, the site takes you to PayPal where you log in to confirm who you are and then follow the instructions. It's really quite easy. I've done it many times.

::;Unless a lot of things have changed the local authorities are not going to help much. They consider this low priority and it deals, most likely, with more than one state. Your best bet is to work through PayPal, and hopefully your credit card company, if you used one, and do a charge back. Always use a credit card to pay when there's a lot of money involved.

Ouch! If you used a credit card in the paypal transaction, then just call the credit card company to reverse the charges. If you used direct debit from your bank account, then you should get a friend who is an attorney to lend you his letterhead and write a letter to eBay/Paypal certified.

Never never use paypal. They are horrible with transactions and fees. I am sorry about your delima. I hope you get it taken care of. I am not aware of any sites, but you should keep after them because it is wrong. I wish you the best of luck.

IF you paid with a credit card and didn't receive anything, it should be easy.



Call your CC company and tell them, they send you a letter you fill out and will almost certainly refund your money.

Usually ebay would give you their contact information when a dispute arises, use the information to sue him.
