Everybody has their own opinion how they view the death penalty. You can form you own opinion however you want.

This is my opinion on the issue. I support the the death penalty for people who commit cruel and heinous acts of violent crimes that result in death. Recently, the US Supreme Court accepted a case from Kentucky that has effectively halted executions nationwide. However, I just think the court is wasting their time interfering with scheduled executions and debating whether or not lethal injections are cruel and unusual punishment.

Why does it matter if the condemned man or or woman suffers from pain while they are getting injected with deadly drugs. if they are guilty as sin then they must be executed for their crimes. Why doesn't anybody ever take a stand for the murder victims and their families. After all, murder victims and their families are not allowed to an appeal when they are six foot under with absolutely nothing.

We have a death penalty, but not a death by torture penalty.

You don't have to condone brutal crimes or want the criminals who commit them to avoid a harsh punishment to ask whether the death penalty prevents or even reduces crime and whether it risks killing innocent people. The answers to these questions have nothing to do with having sympathy for criminals.

BTW, many victims families do not support the death penalty, some for religious and moral reasons and some because the legal process is painful for them. They have said that life without parole is appropriate.

Because it is incumbent upon any civilized state to not sink to the level of those it seeks to punish. If we have decided we have the right to take a person's life, then we must do it in a manner that defines us as a society. Therefore,we must do it in as painless and humane a manner as possible. To do any less would say that we are animals who find pleasure in the suffering of those we condemn.

Compared to the the way their victims died..this is beyond compassion for the condemned.
