When I was 7 now 16 you could smoke in pubs with smoke rooms. Now you can't. I think it should be legal. What is wrong with it? You can't smoke in public places anymore. Should you think it should be legal or kept illegal?

Smoking and drinking go together. Non smokers haven't exactly figured this out yet.
But yes, smoking should be allowed in bars, you can choose to go or choose to not go.

I am a smoker. Believe it or not, there are still places in the US where you can smoke in a bar. I recently visited a southern city which had no smoking laws. I walked in a bar and had to leave. It was foul and disgusting. So, I stood on the sidewalk, had a smoke and pondered where to go. I came up with no ideas, went to my hotel to bed and coughed myself to sleep. Think of the children and those who have to share the air. I think of quitting everyday but still stick that death warrant in my mouth..sometimes without even thinking. I am more than happy to step outdoors while I kill myself so no one has to witness my vile habit.

the law should have had all the towns local pubs/bars get together and decide between themselves as to which ones should allow smoking and which ones are banning smoking, this would have been a fairer way for customers and pub/bar owners, non smokers don't seem to realise that a lot of elderly/retired people like to meet up with their old friends and have a pint.a smoke and a game of dominoes in the pubs and bars they also get a better standard of life ,nowadays most of these elderly/retired people see none of their friends and and sit at home trying to keep warm and keep body and soul together, during the day, while the pubs /bars are sitting empty and running into debt due to lack of these elderly customers.this ends up with the closure we have all seen in every town in the uk of pubs and bars,as most non smokers normally only use the bars and pubs at night due to them being at work during the day.not enough thought went into this anti smoking law

Second hand smoke. I understand you have a right to smoke but I also have a right to clean air and you can't practice rights if they infringe on another person's right. I am glad that smoking in pubs and in places has become illegal, but I am not a smoker. More and more smoking is becoming persecuted and while I am sorry if you have received any malice because of it, understand it is done to protect people who choose not to smoke.

Maybe pubs should have a monthly f@g day (that means cigarette btw Americans) if they want, just to test the response. I've a feeling the pubs would be heaving.
Just warn me which pubs are taking part so I can avoid them - I don't smoke!

No it should not. There's positive proof that the secondhand smoke is harmful to people's health, and can result in lung cancer.
It should be banned in any public place. My father, mother, best friend all died from lung cancer. My father smoked, my mother and friend did not - they died from exposure to secondhand smoke.
