not everyone that has got a dui was drunk or driving impaired. Im sure the idiots that live on the answer forums have at one time or the other have had a couple of drinks and drove. You have said im not even feeling drunk, which was my case. I had 2 glasses of wine with dinner. I couldnt believe they got me for a dui. I hate self righteous people.

I hate people who rant.

Yeah, DUI laws are strict in the way that a body isn't. Fair enough.

But if you are blowing that high, you had way more than two glasses of wine. Unless they had a shot of vodka in the bottom or something.

If you weren't impaired at that level, you are either 275 lbs., or have a serious drinking problem. Which would explain why you didn't keep track of how much you had.

I don't drive after drinking at all because I'm a bit of a light weight. I'm mostly vegan, so a double rum and Coke makes me uncomfortable to take the chance. That's not self righteousness, it's fact.

Yes, I have driven after drinking, and I have done so when I probably should not have.

Driving while "impaired" has a specific meaning under most state laws. For example, in OH the legal limit is 0.08 for BAC. If I drink 4 or 5 12-ounce beers, I might "feel fine" for driving, but my BAC may be over 0.08. In that case, I am impaired as a matter of law, regardless of whether I pass my field sobriety tests.

Well, everyone knows (or should if you hold a license) the legal limit in your state.

I live in Il and I know that even one beer will probably warrant a DUI with the limit being .08.

That is why I don't have a drink and drive. Because I know and am responsible.

Sorry, no pity party for you.

In Maryland, there was once 2 separate costs: D U I - .08 BAC D W I - .10 BAC The legislation converted a couple of years in the past, now we best have DUI @ .08, however the consequences are the equal because the historical DWI.

I'm not much of a drinker. That makes it pretty easy for me.

If and when I go out to a bar or restaurant, and I'm the one driving, I have one drink and then stop. Most of the time, not even one.

It's just a rule I've set for myself, to make sure I'm never DUI.
