My dad was given a paper (I believe form the court of defense attorney) that the sheriff should book and immediately release him and provided him with proper documentation of the date and time he was booked and released.

Where does he go? to the sheriffs department? Will he have to get his finger and picture taken? Is he going to jail? His court date is tomorrow and he doesn't have any documentation to show! Can I ask for an extension or is to too late?

He should go to the Sheriff's office now with the paper he was given. They will know what to do. Booking usually involves mug shots and fingerprints.

Go to court tomorrow and see what it is all about. Your dad might know what he has done to warrent this. Or call the court or call a lawyer.

It sounds like there are a lot of details you are leaving out here.
