She has he's name, photo and details about him on there, but her identity is completely annoymous.

If looking at child pornography is illegal in her country/state doesnt she have an obligation to report him to the police? Another user on the site has said, if what you have said is true then you should report him to the police.

Do you think users who have seen the advert are obligated to report him to the police, if for some reason the woman who left the advert doesnt.

It could be the case that the woman is lying about her boyfriend or ex.

What form of action should be taken?

In the U.S., possession of child porn is a crime, not merely looking at it. However, it's tough to imagine how you can look at something without possessing it... (as for internet porn, I think if you download it, you're in possession....)

As for reporting duties.... here in the U.S. there is no legal obligation to report a crime (with some exceptions; e.g., many professionals are required to report child abuse)....

I'm wondering why this anonymous woman site bugs you, but since it does.... why not report it? If you are in the U.S., contact the FBI or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (they are not cops but would know what to do)

The question should be whether you could live with doing nothing and therefore allowing continued abuse of children for the gratification of sick adults? Whether or not the allegation is true would be for the Police to determine. Anyone reading the post has a moral obligation to report it to the Police. If there were no market for child porn children wouldn't be abused and exploited for profit. The women posting the comments obviously doesn't make good choices so it's unlikely she could be relied on to report him.

Well, I have a Computer Scientist friend who works for the FBI and a boyfriend who is a lawyer and there are different ways to look at this situation. First of all, the lady could be lying about her ex. Second, how does she know he was looking at child porn? Was she looking at it too? Why would a man tell her that? Third, there are computers to trace that illegal type of activity and if it was her computer then she should use a masterpassword and lock the computer and never allow anyone to use it at all. Finally, the story sounds odd and it appears she is a wierdo who did view the stuff with her boyfriend and the man left her and so now she blames it all on him. I lock my computer and do not allow others to use it. Bye!

True or not, It should still be reported to the police just to be on the safe side.

If I saw my boyfriend ONCE looking at child porn I'd report him to the police and then run like hell and never look back. Sick!

Sounds like a bitter woman seeking revenge. If this woman really knew all this about him and for her to not turn him in, makes her every bit as bad as he is (if it were indeed true)
