I am goings to the DMV tomorrow to request a duplicate license. My purse was stolen tonight along with all of my documentations (license, cc, ssn card, etc). What do I need to bring to the DMV as proof of my identity?

In my state, and probably in yours, the DMV can bring up your driver's license picture on their computer screens. So they know whether it's you.

A birth certificate is not ID.

you can over night a birth certificate.. but it cost a lot.. you could see if the DMV will mail the license to the address on the it. that might help with them thinking it is fraud..

Take everything you have that shows your name. The rules vary by state, but the more proof you have, the better.

For future reference, NEVER carry your social security card around with you. You don't need it, and it's very valuable.

Here's a wacky idea. ASK THEM.

Go to the DMV website and find out what forms of ID are acceptable.

You can even CALL them.
