I have Cox Communications and splitting cable from one room into another. There's really only two cable... jacks... but we had to make a split for the cable internet. We have paid for all the services we have. I live in the state of Arkansas. The cable guy is coming here soon.
My question to you guys is... is this illegal, and should I worry about it?
Thank you in advance.

Despite what the first guy said, I don't think it's a big deal. And, if it is causing problems that you were not aware of, I bet your cable guy will give you a heads up before he calls out the cable police. Most of the cable guys I have dealt with are just regular working guys, so I wouldnt be too worried. If you want to be sure that you are on the up and up, just ask him when he gets there =]

Your contract for cable services is very specific as to the number of television or internet connections it provides for.
If you add more, it can cause problems to the system. I'm not sure technically if that's a resistance, bandwidth, or overload issue, but the fact is....
It's stealing.
It's legally and morally no different from splitting your neighbor's service and running off of theirs.
