Question:
Should I try to get my manager fired?

I've been working at a chain restaurant as a hostess. I've never just not come into work and I've called out maybe 4 times for good reasons. I do my job and I've been complimented and even tipped by customers for my good customer service skills. After I started, we got a new manager, Carl, and for a while he was my favorite manager. About six months ago he got promoted to general manager and became a nightmare. Six of my coworkers (who were great servers and valuable to the company, in my opinion) quit because of him. Recently one of my coworkers, who regularly calls out (always the same bullshit excuse) and shows up late for work, physically abused her boyfriend, who works in the kitchen. People call out or just don't show up all the time. People smoke weed in the back when you're not even supposed to smoke cigarettes and this manager knows about it. And my roommate served alcohol to minors two weeks ago and the manager found out and decided not to do anything about it because he didn't want to look bad. In the 2 years I've worked there, no one has ever been fired, not even the older woman who lived in her car in the parking lot and came into work drunk every day. Well, last Tuesday I was scheduled. I am not available on Tuesday and never have been. I did not go into work that night. Two days later I called to see what time I was supposed to come and was told by another manager that my shift that night had been given to someone else and that I'd have to call in the morning when Carl was there to "discuss the future of my job." I called in the morning and basically threatened him about all the illegal stuff he was letting happen as well as how anyone could call out and nothing would happen. That didn't work and he still said I was fired. A few hours later I called back and apologized for not coming in that night. He was rude and wouldn't listen to me but eventually he said he'd talk to the other managers and call me back if he changed his mind. He called back and told me he'd put me back on the schedule, but not until next week, if we "wouldn't have any more problems." In two years we've never had any problems and I am having to miss a week and a half of work for this when I have rent to pay. So I guess my question is what should I do? I would love to call corporate and get him fired for all his corruption, but should I just cut my losses and go back to my job and not bring the situation up again?

Oh yeah, he also discussed my employment with everyone but me. Several people kept asking me if I had been fired. I didn't tell anyone so it had to be him. i just feel that was wrong and unethical and I'm sure he lied to people about what really happened.

i didnt have the time to read that but it seems like you have enough evidence or a major issue. I guess if you feel the need or trust in yourself, sure.

Your lucky, because you was put on for Tuesday and didn't show up or call. At my job a no call, no show is automatic fire.

You need documented evidence or video.
