If someone was to obtain leaked corporate memos that could be incriminating, are the memos copyrighted or protected from being displayed on a public website?

Yes, as a work done for hire, the copyright for the memo belongs to the coproration. Violating it would get you into trouble.

The FBI was able to salvage shredded information by Arthur Anderson accounting company.
There are plenty from Wal Mart such as the one to get rid of those over 40years old.

Not only copyrighted but most companies have a blanket/umbrella clause that states any electronic information used by their emails are covered under this copyright law.

Technically, anything created electronically is automatically copyrighted by the author.
