Someone asks this at least twice a week. I am pro life and against the death penalty, but I will speak for the others that have answered so many times here. Babies are innocents, have done nothing to get sucked out in pieces. Prisoners that have been found guilty are guilty, they took a life. Why do pro choice people call killing babies a choice they have, but make me wear a seat belt or I get a ticket. Stopped smokers in some states from even smoking outside? Where's other people's choices going.

Historically, we have never known for certain who our fathers are. Every mother knows who her biological children are!

The Death Penalty doesn't have such reproductive and genetic complications. Those who get the death penalty have usually violated laws that society has had since humans started existing (such as homocide).

The Death Penalty has simply been around too long and in too many societies.

Abortion is relatively new (women have been terminating pregnancies for ages, but the movement against abortion only started within the past century and a half).

... It takes the church a long time/forever to adopt any new concept :-)

Not all do, plenty say no death penalty, and no abortions.

Others say death penalty but no abortions.

Somebody supports any combination of the two.

I think the argument is that the baby didn't have a chance to defend itself, it is removed as an inconvenience. The death penalty person lived their life but chose to be bad and sin heavily such as murdering and torturing, so it is okay if they die.

I am pro life because that child did not asked to be conceived and if the mother did not want to get pregnant than USE BIRTH CONTROL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The people on death row deserve what they are getting it's called eye for an eye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is two different subjects that have nothing to do with the other.

Because the justify it on the natural law, so when a person is naturally bad, then just get rid of IT. But the fetus should have a chance, you don't know yet what will it be.

I suppose. It's contradictory, but anyhow these people are intolerant...

I see what you are implying...the apparent lack of consistency in those views. I think it centers on the difference between taking an innocent life and protecting society from people who have demonstrated that they abuse their freedoms and use those to harm other people.

Are unborn children murderers?

It falls back to the saying "Eye for an Eye".

Because they have conservative ideas. They use a set of moral values that is somewhat older.

Good question. I guess they can justify death if that person has done something "evil".
