If someone killed your family member and they were convicted of murder and sentenced to lethal injection, etc., would you watch the execution?

For those who have witnessed an execution, how did you feel? Satisfied, horrified?

If the person killed my sister, my dad, or my mom or worst my child, I would. Otherwise I wouldn't.

IF and ONLY IF the offender had killed one of my family then YES ,

I'd even pull the lever (electric chair), drop the cyanide tablets into the acid (gas chamber) , put the needle into their arm (lethal injection) or pull the peg out and release the trapdoor (hanging)

If I was allowed to,

An Eye for an Eye , a Death for a Death , tha's what I believe.

PS we don't have the death penalty, here in Australia , more's the pity. there are quite a few killers I'd like to get rid of.

Having said that I don't believe that ALL the Negroes on the various "death rows" in the U S are guilty, but that's a subject for another discusion

nah lethal injection would be boring....a good old fashioned hanging I think would make for more entertainment although for some reason I think the electric chair just seems cruel

(judging from what I've seen in movies)

In real life I wouldn't want to watch any of those methods being used even if the guy killed my own kid.... I'd be in a place of god praying for my kid and even that poor misguided soul

whilst many ppl would feel consoled, relieved and satisfied at watching an execution of a criminal who harmed their loved one(s), what if that individual expresses no remorse and actualy rubs salt in your wounds by celebrating his act ? what if he/she depicts joyous behaviour upon execution ?

would you halt execution and request torture , just to hear that individuals shrieks and cries ?

im not taking any stance in this matter, its just something I THOUGHT about as i read this question-answer post.

imagine the 'dissatisfaction, horror and disgust' on our faces if the evil doer actualy laughed out loud and began to disclose the actual gruesome details of his/her actions !??

omg could you IMAGINE that ?? im guessing it'd make our blood boil for sure.

perhaps you could gag them and then hang them, i dunno.

it does depend on the severity of the crime i guess.

also, there is the danger of inciting further hatred by followers of a madman, i.e imagine of bin laden got caught, tried and then executed on life tv - you can bet your life the islamic radicals and followers of his ways would declare him a 'martyr' and even dedicate the day of his execution as a martyrdom day for that guys sorry ***.

by watching an execution of somebody who hurt a loved one or a close friend wouldnt achieve much, if anything. It wont bring them back. but if you can stomach it and youre adamant being there to see the perpetraitor suffer, no problem with it.

If it were my family member, I would already have asked that the death sentence not be imposed, so no, I would not watch.

No. There are cases where I could perform one if needed; but I'd have no desire to be a spectator.

Yes. I believe that executions should occur more often and be public - broadcast on television. This would bring it back to be the effective deterrent that it once was.
