I withrew money from an atm and the first transaction was a failure it said error please contact associate.?
Me thinking it was my fault went to a different machine at which everything went smoothly I just looked at my statement and notice it charged me for both withdrawals.
I was curious if I can prove this happens often can I sue them for faulty machine

The first machine gave me no indication that the withdrawal worked

At a bank both ATM's
The charged me the full withdrawal 200 in this case
Imagine i had been a grandma and simply trusted the bank
Imagine how much money they gain each day because of incidents like this

I imagine that if you had been a grandma then you would have contacted an associate like the first machine told you to do.

I imagine that they don't gain much money because of this because most ATM users contact an associate when they are told to do that.

Call the bank. The machine records will show exactly what happened.

When it said "contact an associate", it was time to call the bank customer service.

Call them now, let them know what happened. Hopefully you kept your slip or know when you were at that ATM. They can look back and see that the money from the machine did not settle out- they match the transactions in the computer to the amount of cash that was left at the end of the shift. Go tell them it was you who did not get money out when you should have. You shou;d have called them then, but hopefully they will resolve it now.

Expect more of this. Trump dropped a regulation that made banks accountable, they have your money and can do just about anything they want. Contact the bank in writing, certified mail and then send a letter to the Comptroller of the Currency letting them know that you were cheated.
