Parents: Should the sex offender map (family watchdog) list more information then they provide?

Question

The map already lists:
· Details (address)
· Aliases
· Convictions
· Description (gender, race, hair color, eye color, height, weight, birthday)
· A map, satellite, hybrid and terrain of the offender's address.

The map should list:
· The victim's age during the crime committed regardless of whether the victim is a child or not
· The victim's gender
· The offender's age during the crime committed
· The year the crime was committed
· The offender's relation to the victim (father, uncle, neighbor)
· The year the offender was convicted
· The offender's triggers (for pedophiles it could be diaper commercials and/or tomboyish girls, for rapists, girls with long hair and/or blonde hair)
· The offender's name change records and being searchable with those names.
· All other convictions listed below sex crime convictions (copyright infringement, drug possession, etc)
· A description of what the offender did to the victim (in 1/1/11, John Smith bla bla bla against his female cousin)

The list of items you mentioned that they show, is the basic information... The rest of it is public record... it wouldn't take but a couple more key strokes to figure the rest of it out. In Michigan, it gives the make, model, color and tag number for all cars owned.



It gives the date of conviction, so it should be easy to figure out the offender age at the time of the crime. It also gives the age of the victim..



Keep in mind too... there are some on there, who really don't belong on there... There is a report out now, where a grade school child, is in trouble for playing tag...
