I just got home a short bit ago from a trip to WalMart, where I was wrongly accused of stealing.

I went to exit the store after buying catfood and litter and someone yelled at me from behind and grabbed me, I thought I was being attacked so I jerked away, but they pushed me to the wall and put me on the floor. They told me they've caught me stealing, that they got a report that a heavyset woman wearing a pink shirt was stealing perfume and they saw it on camera...

They searched me and my purse, but didn't find anything- because I didn't steal in the first place and never would.

I am embarrassed, people were looking, and a group of teens even laughed and made fun of me. "Oh, fat B got caught! P.O.S"

They didn't like hurt me real bad or anything, but my back is sore. I have a spinal injury. It's nothing to sue over, though. I'll be feeling fine by tomorrow.

Just, is there anything I can do about this? I'm furious... They didn't even apologize, they just told me to leave.

Honestly I've seen people caught in Wal-Mart and that wasn't how they responded. I was walking in one time as they walked up to someone that was about to leave. They stopped the person and asked the person to go with them. They told the person they knew why. Basically they tried to not make a scene. That's what makes me suspect your story. That and that you try to act so offended by it and all, but then it's oh I just want an apology. So why didn't you ask for one there? If you fit the description of someone who was stealing then yeah they have teh right to stop you and check for the merchandise. In fact they have a room for it.

It sounds like your life is worth less than some perfume bottles at WalMart.

They always say, "where you shop is as important as what you buy".

This is apparently a part of the WalMart experience.

Things are cheap, but quality is probably lacking in everything.

You have to be really careful there - thankfully nothing permanently injured today!

If I were you, I'd NEVER set foot on their property again. If you really want to kick it up a notch, write a letter of complaint to each and every member of Walmart's Board of Directors. Walmart's profits are not what they want them to be. No wonder considering how they are treating their customers...

You can sue them because they assaulted you, they detained you and they searched you.

They inflicted harm and violated your rights. Wal Mart Security does not have Police Powers, they do not have legal authorization to do what they did.

Police can't even do this, police have to have probably cause to search you, and they cannot put their hands on you unless you are a threat to your own, or their safety.

You can sue Wal Mart for the violations they have committed, and I would recommend you pursue legal action.

The Police once did that to me. When I showed them my receipt, they said "oh ****" and ran away before I could get their badge numbers.

Ya for starters. You can charge them with assault. They assaulted you for no reason and they should be fired.
