Question:
Are there any companies that are willing to hire someone who has spent 22 years in prison for a violent crime?

I have been trying to get decent employment since being granted parole. Once a background check is made I am told that I do not met the criteria for the job. in addition, most organizations that assist prisoners are not willing to work with violent felons in order to continue getting jobs for their non-violent felons. I am just trying to get my life on track. I willing to work hard and I know that I will never commit another crime in my life. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

You're going to have to start right at the very bottom in the kind of jobs where they don't check anything and only care about the fact that you're breathing. I'd suggest places like poultry processing plants, slaughter houses, refuse collection services, etc...

Unfortunately, you got out at a bad time. Right now for every violent felon there's five teenagers and three professionals out looking for the same job. Nobody's got a job right now.

Gonna have to start low. Think, like, jobs that Mexicans have. Aim there.

Its against the law and is discrimination for them to go back farther than seven years. some even do credit checks before hiring you now.

basically what it all boils down to is you served judgement for your crime and are still being held accountable for your crime even after being compliant with the just due of the Judicial System.

You should SUE The STATE, or get a cheap job like a mcdonalds job plan to move to california and get in on there marijuana dealings.

The corporate world is full of yellow belly *****, your never going to receive a fair shake from any corporation, maybe a mechanic job changing oil and tires. America has become so cowardice, that france may be fairer in giving you GOOD employment.

It is a tough one. a lot of restaurants do not do background checks and neither do construction companies.

But you said Decent job. Like I said, it is tough.

I can't give you any specific referrals. I have HEARD some ex-convicts have opened there own businesses and make an effort to give other ex-convicts a second chance. If you can find one or them, they may be your best option.
