How long does stage 4 of a CRB/DBS check take?

Question

My CRB/DBS was received on the 27th September and its currently been stuck with the police @ stage 4 for a little over 4 weeks.

Does anyone know how long this stage is supposed to take? I have moved 5 times in 3 years so will this significantly effect the waiting time?

Or does anyone know if there is a current delay/backlog with CRB checks at the moment?

My Enhanced took 3 months. It can take an age if you have moved so many times as each police force has to check. They are in no hurry. There have been several people on here who have waited for weeks for stage 4 to be completed.

There is no time limit. After the first 60 days have passed, the DBS can start putting pressure on the police to get it sorted, but even then, there's no guarantee it'll come back swiftly. The longest we've had was about 8 months.

I sent for my DBS check 4 weeks ago and have been told that my check wont be cleared un till September. wanted to work now why does it take so long ? Does any one know Diane

My dubs has been going through for over 80 days now and its coming to the end of the school year

This is a long waiting time so there must be issues..........I process these for new recruits and get them back normally within 2 weeks........
