Question:
How can recording web models be copy write infringement?
2011-05-06 12:43:21 UTC
so i was recording models from an internet cam site.
there is no logo for the site in the video.
in fact i put my own logo on the video and then uploaded it to a porn site.
but they take some down.
i heard one the reasons was cuz she said on her profile that her video stream was copyrighted.
but i never viewed her profile.
and how can u just say that and make it true. (is it?)
and they just took down my blogspot blog.
so have have to just add a copy write logo next to my logo?
these people is tripping.
what is a better blog site for porn?
this is not copy write infringement, is it?

I am a cam model and on the site I can block out states. I do this so people I know don't see me. If I ever came across this happening to my shows, I would sue you directly not only for copyright infrigment, but for using my image. You are lucky that all they did was take it down and not go after you. That is a huge, huge crime. Not just for recording webcam models, but for any type of media.

That is totally wrong. Morally and Legally. They are not tripping. You are infringing upon her and where she wants her image to be placed.

Everything created in the last hundred years or so is protected by copyright. You cannot use something that is copyrighted unless you have permission from the creator of the work. This means that you cannot download someone's video and then upload it to another site without permission from the person who created the video or owns the rights (the model, usually, in this case).

Adding your logo does nothing. Adding a copyright notice does nothing, either. You need a license from the person who owns the copyright on the video, period. Yes, uploading videos without permission (and even downloading them without permission) is copyright infringement, and it's illegal. You can be sued or even sent to jail for copyright infringement.

Recording a live performance over the Web is a gray area, but the current trend of jurisprudence in most developed countries is towards greater and greater copyright protection of this type of material, so it may not be legal to record streaming video, even when it is live, depending on where you live. There is also the separate issue of image rights when a model is involved, which may be an obstacle even if copyright doesn't apply where you live.

Not only is it wrong but it's stupid lets talk photography and models any model that you shoot has to sign a release yes cam models do to. But the issue she is signing a contract with the company to use her image you taking her image for your own purposes is copyright infringement so your not only violating the model since you do not have permission to record and are using her image to promote or make money off of her you are also trying to steal the material of a legitimate pornography company so not only cam the model sue you but so can that particular pornography company that you stole from.
